Best practices

Beneficial use of biosolids is strictly regulated.  Many utilities implement best management practices (BMPs) to take their biosolids management programs beyond basic regulatory compliance to ensure that they generate high quality products and use them beneficially.  Biosolids bring the greatest benefit to communities and the environment when utilities participate in third-party auditing, manage odors and other nuisances, and contribute to public outreach.
